I majored in political science because I wanted to improve the quality of people's lives.

I minored in economics because I enjoy problem solving.

I pursued a masters degree because I like research.

I spent a couple of years teaching art because I love designing beautiful things.

In 2018 I went back to school because I discovered that as a UX/UI designer I can do all these things.

I obtained my AAS in Digital Media April 2021. The education I consider most valuable I did not learn from any one class, but across the major: I have gained confidence to take risks, and I have learned that feedback is a critique of my work, not of me.

Moving toward the BS, I expect to take a lot of front-end development classes and practice writing and reading code. I want to learn to recognize common coding patterns and learn how they relate to design.

Short term: I enjoy working on projects that provide an enjoyable experience for the user, where the design is just as important as the finished project, and where the needs of the user are considered from the beginning.

Long term: Between an associates degree in design and a masters degree in management, I aim to be a bridge between business and tech.
